The Julia Morgan Project is 4 women in theater who have come together just to produce this delightful play about a remarkable woman we have come to admire as a model for us and for women in every field.  Playwright Belinda Taylor, director Barbara Oliver, actress Janis Stevens, and producer Sabrina Klein are excited to be re-mounting our award-winning production of Becoming Julia Morgan. We're grateful to those who helped us have a sell-out run last year, and look forward to greeting new and returning audiences in this year's performance, aiming to break last year's records!

Thanks so much to those who joined us on Nov 19th for our Julia Morgan party at Berkeley City Club!  And special thanks to the fabulous staff at the Club--gracious, professional and charming!  You are the best....

We were joined by Broadcast journalist Ciji Ware wrote a just-published novel, Race to Splendor, about the '06 San Francisco quake and the doors it opened for architects-- including Julia Morgan --in the frenzy to rebuild. She joined in conversation with Belinda Taylor wrote the award winning play, Becoming Julia Morgan.  Congrats to those who won the great silent auction items, including an overnight stay with dinner at the Berkeley City Club and the gorgeous new book on Greene & Greene donated by the Builders Booksource.

Why Julia Morgan's Legacy Matters....
As a professional (architect and engineer), as a woman (in a decidely male profession), and as a woman overcoming physical limitations that have disabled others, Julia Morgan inspires the women of the Julia Morgan Project, and the men, women and young people who have seen "Becoming Julia Morgan." Come get inspired this year, too!

From the Sacramento Bee review:  “Like a Julia Morgan-designed building, the new play about California's first female architect … is a beautiful and intelligently designed creation. And also like her buildings, it is pleasing to the senses, with fine attention to detail and outstanding craftsmanship.  In 1929, when Morgan was awarded an honorary doctor of laws degree from UC Berkeley, her degree cited, in part, an architect "in whose works harmony and admirable proportions bring pleasure to the eye and peace to the mind." So too does “Becoming Julia Morgan.’ ”
